Wendell Richardson, MD, graduated from James Island High School in Charleston, South Carolina, and went on to attend the University of South Carolina and the College of Charleston, earning degrees in mathematics and chemistry. He completed his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Charleston and his Family Medicine residency at McLeod Regional Hospital in Florence, South Carolina.
Dr. Richardson has practiced in community-based settings in Lumberton, North Carolina, and served on staff at Southeastern Regional Hospital. He has been with Med First Primary & Urgent Care since 2009, where he also partnered in the early development of the organization. Most recently, he served as an attending physician at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston until May 2025.
