Melanie Hernandez Douglass was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and raised in North Carolina. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly a decade of healthcare experience, including more than 6 years as a Registered Nurse and 2 years in urgent care as a Nurse Practitioner.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from North Carolina Central University and her Master of Science in Nursing (FNP) from Chamberlain University. Melanie also completed Duke University’s Nurse Residency Program in 2018 and holds a Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Melanie is committed to patient education, collaborative care, and addressing health disparities to support positive, long-term health outcomes. She emphasizes a preventive, patient-centered approach in her practice.
Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and pug. She is also an avid reader who enjoys exploring a wide range of genres and discovering new restaurants.
She is pleased to care for patients at Med First Raleigh Creedmoor and is accepting new patients.
