Joseph S. Farmer, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant with more than 15 years of experience in family medicine and primary care. Prior to joining MedFirst, he was the owner of Mill Creek Family Practice in Hampstead, North Carolina. He provides personalized, comprehensive care to patients of all ages, with a particular interest in preventative care and helping patients make decisions based on trustworthy, evidence-based information. He earned his undergraduate degree from UNC-Wilmington and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University.
Mr. Farmer is certified by the NCCPA and is an active fellow of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Association of Physician Assistants. Mr. Farmer practices from his belief that we all have God-given talents that we are called to use for the benefit of our neighbors, near and far. He takes tremendous pride in the care he provides his community and deeply values the relationships he has built with patients over the years. He and his family have also provided medical care to underserved communities in the Dominican Republic through Solid Rock International, and he holds these trips as highlights of his career. Outside of work, Mr. Farmer is usually found enjoying time outside on or near the water, playing golf, or travelling with his wife and two children.
