“Tori” Deborah Boyd was raised in Morehead City, NC, and obtained her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from UNC-Wilmington. She has practitioner experience in pediatrics and spent her nursing career at Duke Health in their cardiac ICU and emergency room, as well as in interventional pain management. Having a personal history of radiation and brain surgery herself, she can personally relate to struggling with a disease. Her health battles have also given her unique compassion for patients and their family’s health journeys. Tori enjoys treating patients of all ages and learning new ways to serve her patients better. She believes in open communication and empowering her patients to understand the health and disease process better.
Tori enjoys spending time with her infant son, husband, and family. She is also involved in her church and sings in a gospel group. Tori’s gospel group has sung to fundraising for organizations such as Make A Wish, Relay for Life, and Ronald McDonald House. Her hobbies are boating, swimming, singing, reading, and playing video games with friends and family.
She is happy to have joined the Med First Family and looks forward to serving the Swansboro and Emerald Isle communities.
