My name is Richard Ulstad and I am a Certified Physician Assistant practicing for the past 20 years in Southeastern North Carolina. I was fortunate to receive a full National Health Service Core Scholarship in Medicine and graduate from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
I have been working in private practice in Urgent Care, Family Practice, and Internal Medicine intermittently since 2001. My commitment to equip myself with knowledge to serve patient needs as best as I can has led me to accumulate several years in specialty offices of Orthopedics, Urology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Rheumatology, and Surgery.
I have clinical interests in all the above, with a focus and emphasis on the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model. With training at the University of Rochester in New York and with double degrees in Biology, Psychology with a Business Management and Spanish core, I have been able to cultivate a broader skillset to deal with patient services. Even as a Board Certified Densitometrist in treating Osteoporosis, patient prevention has been a primary goal, in addition to treatment.
My family and I, which includes my wife who is also a Physician Assistant, our two children Alex and Jack and our three dogs, truly love the communities of Southeastern North Carolina. We enjoy all outdoor activities, sports, traveling, and spending time with our families.
