Maria was born and raised in Pennsylvania, about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. She attended Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA and earned her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies in 2016. Maria has had a variety of clinical training and rotations, including Family Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Emergency Medicine, Behavioral Health, and General Surgery.
Immediately following graduation, she began working at an urgent care and family practice in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. In 2019, Maria and her husband moved to Chapel Hill, NC to pursue careers and warmer weather.
Maria’s practice philosophy emphasizes preventative measures and healthy lifestyle, in addition to evidence based medicine. She advocates for her patients and believes in the individualized patient care approach with appropriate patient education and counseling. Maria is also passionate about providing medical care for the under-served. She has been involved with a medical mission trip in the Dominican Republic, where she assisted with medical care over the course of 7 days. She hopes to continue medical mission work in the future.
During her free time, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also enjoys traveling abroad, reading, trying new restaurants and outdoor activities.
