Liz Buno, MHS, PA-C moved to North Carolina after completing her BA in Social Work at the University of Oklahoma and working in a high acuity hospital in Oklahoma City as a medical social worker for several years. Ms. Buno completed her Master of Health Science at the Duke University PA Program in 2004 and has been committed to keeping the Roxboro community healthy for over 17 years.
She enjoys partnering with patients through all the stages of their lives and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. Ms. Buno sees patients of all ages but particularly enjoys adolescent medicine, diabetes, and blood pressure management, women’s health, and minor procedures including skin biopsies, joint and trigger point injections, and IUD placement. She is passionate about education, both with her patients and with PA and Medical students who regularly train at Roxboro Family Medicine. She has been honored with national and local awards as an educator, including awards for Preceptor of the Year in 2014 from the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Preceptor of the Year for both the Physician Assistant and Department of Family Medicine programs at Duke University.
Outside of the office, you’ll find her spending time at the beach hunting for shark teeth with her husband and two daughters, traveling, reading, or listening to live music.
