Linda Hedges, FNP-BC

Linda Hedges, FNP-BC, received her Master of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification from East Tennessee State University in 2012.  Before pursuing her master’s degree, she practiced as a registered nurse, primarily in Emergency Medicine, for 26 years.
While working in the Emergency Department, she observed many patients coming to the ED for primary care because they did not have access to a primary care practitioner in their community. Linda wanted to become a part of the solution outside of the hospital environment and make a difference in communities, so she decided to become a nurse practitioner.
Since completing her FNP -BC, she has practiced in Family Medicine, Correctional Facility, Hospital Surgical Service, Post Acute/Rehabilitation, and Women’s Health OB/GYN.
The experience she has amassed throughout her career has provided her with an extensive background in emergency, acute, primary, and long-term care. However, Linda focuses on preventative care, believing that preventing chronic illness will contribute greatly to her patients enjoying healthy and long lives.
In her off time, Linda loves traveling, running, hiking, and spending time with her family. After many moves across the country with her husband, who is retired from the Navy, family was the reason they settled in Roanoke Rapids from California.
Linda accepts primary care patients 15 and older and treats 2 years and older for urgent care needs. She looks forward to serving the community of Roanoke Rapids, which she is happy to call home.
